spring... primavera

Temperatures have been so warm these days... spring is definitely arrived. The many shades of green in the fields are just beautiful. Nature always enchants me!

La temperatura si è fatta decisamente mite in questi giorni... è proprio arrivata la primavera. Le tante tonalità di verde nei prati sono stupende. La natura mi incanta sempre!

P is a peacock... P è un pavone

Time for a new tiny part of our ABC. Most samplers have a peacock, so here is one! I stitched mine using DMC 3011, but you might like to try with some peacock blue for a change. The chart will be emailed shortly. Have a very relaxing weekend!

E' l'ora di aggiungere un altro riquadro al nostro ABC. Molti sampler includono un pavone, quindi eccone uno! L'ho ricamato con il DMC 3011, ma se preferite potete sicuramente optare per un bel blu pavone, più colorato. A breve manderò lo schema alle iscritte al SAL.

Free hand embroidery... Ricamo a mano libera

Not my usual technique but something I am trying to learn. This was part of a kit I bought long ago and since the booklet includes more small designs, I am pretty sure I will pick up a new one really soon!

Non è la tecnica che uso di solito, ma il ricamo a mano libera è qualcosa che vorrei imparare. Questo modello era parte di un kit acquistato tanto tempo fa, ma il libretto include altri piccoli schemi. Sono abbastanza sicura che ne sceglierò un altro molto presto!

Here is the next part of the SAL ABC. I wished to include something related to stitching, so voilà a good old golden needle! I usually like a size 26 or 28, better if it is a petite one. Don't know about you but they just seem to work better for me :) 

I had not anticipated that so many people would be interested in this SAL. Most of all I had not anticipated I would see photos of it on other people's blog: don't know whether I am flattered or frightened... whatever, it's weird. But I am glad so many of you are enjoying these smalls. I know someone plans to finish them differently: a 2x6 grid to be turned into a bag for knitting needles, one long stripe shaped as a bell pull, some small cube pincushions (that's spot-on... I was inspired by the baby blocks I played with as a child). Great ideas!

I have been asked whether the chart will be available for sale once the SAL is over. The answer is no, it won't. But I will be happy to share it with those who wish to stitch it.

Ecco la nuova tappa del SAL ABC. Volevo includere qualcosa che facesse pensare al ricamo e quindi voilà il nostro caro, vecchio ago! Di solito uso un 26 o un 28, meglio se corto. Non so voi, ma mi ci trovo decisamente meglio :)

Non mi aspettavo che così tante persone si sarebbero interessate a questo SAL. Soprattutto non mi aspettavo di vedere le foto su altri blog: non so se la cosa mi lusinga o mi spaventa... in ogni caso, è stranissimo. Ma mi fa piacere che molte di voi si divertano con questi piccoli schemi. So che qualcuna pensa di finirli in modo personalizzato: una griglia 2x6 da trasformare in una custodia per gli aghi da maglia, una lunga striscia sagomata, dei piccoli puntaspilli a forma di cubo (e questa è azzeccatissima perché mi sono ispirata proprio ai cubi con cui giocavo da piccola). Belle idee!

Mi è stato chiesto se lo schema sarà in vendita alla fine del SAL. La risposta è no. Ma sarà mio piacere condividerlo con chi ne farà richiesta.
